Thanks. Indecisive snake ruined the video. Right after I run out of space she gets the shoulders down and slurps it up within 20-30 minutes... That's the part I was hoping to catch.

The fur can be decieving too. They look a lot bigger than they are, until she muscles it and stretches it out lengthwise.

Depends on the species, and if the snake can make up his mind. The false water cobras I had would down a meal in under a minute, my retics range from 2-3 minutes to 2+ hours (if they chose to constrict... it takes a while)
varies species to species and individual to individual

aahh ok, well others has said on my post that she could be fed larger prey so she prob does need bigger though lol... i doubt it will still take her 2+ hours though lol...

As you can see from the video, sometimes a great deal of time is spent staring at the prey, deciding what the best way to try and eat it is. Remember how fast the video is playing. Those pauses where she is looking at it in real time are 5-15 minutes long.

Sometimes I wonder if she's having an active stroke. :D

I know exactly how that is. Sometimes Cloud spends 2+ hours eating to just stare at his prey and try to eat it in various ineffective ways until he gets it right, other times he gets it down in a timely manner. *rolls eyes* Bud gets it down as fast as he can, every time (At least the times he eats. Tried to feed him a black rat today and yesterday instead of his normal albinos, struck at it but didn't constrict or anything. He racist. :I Guess Cloud will get it.). lol Time lapse videos always have a weird marionette-like feel to them, but it makes them interesting. Cool video, looking forward to another. :)

Pretty cool video, nice looking snake. Seems a little fussy at first. Can't seem to make up its mind whether it is going to eat or not. Cool idea and video. Music was a little weird, but interesting to say the least.
