diy rack system

Would something like this be acceptable for a diy rack system for a ball python?

Also would it be acceptable to use heat pads rather than heat tape?

id think if the bins plastic was thick enough to house an adult snake. i dont see why not. it would definitely maintain humidity but i think all the pressure from the weight of the snake would make it hard to open. ive seen people use similar for there leopard geckos racks by taping heat tape to the back, i guess its all preference.

The ones I have seen are very flimsy. I wouldn't trust one to contain my royals. I could easily see my royal bending the plastic on those and getting out.

As for heating, could i use a zoomed/zilla heatpad on it? and should I place it on the side or underneath?

This is what i ended up with. the problem with the style you pictured is it is hard to run heat tape properly and when you open one bin the bin below it is open to the world,

I know someone that used one of those stacked drawers and she hated it.

I used one when I broke the rack I was using, the baby retic pressed against the ridges on the ceiling and not only got a nice cut on his "nose" out of it, but he also pushed his tub open and escaped.
Keep in mind he was in there for under an hour...
