I am sure they will go up for sale for whatever we say they are worth.
I wonder if we can talk the op into keeping them and becoming a herper :)

It's possible that his roommate moved out so abruptly that he left unpaid bills behind. doogle007 may be trying everything he can think of to recoup his losses.

However, doogle007, be CERTAIN that your roommate doesn't want them, as you could get in trouble if you sell them and he returns for them. Something like that happened to a friend of mine; she ended up not only having to pay her ex-roommate for the value of the items she sold but also having to pay court costs when her roomate took her to court. OUCH!

i dont know about where you are, but here after 30 days it's considered abandoned property and becomes the landlords to deal with as they please

Is that true even if one or more roommates is still living in the apartment or house? Here the landlord wouldn't know which property belongs to whom; he or she would simply charge the remaining roommate(s) for any unpaid rent left by someone who moved out.

if the lease included all of you it would not fall to him unless everyone was gone, however i had that happen once where a roomate booked it on us and left his **** behind, he came back months later to get it and it was gone, he called the cops. i told them he left without paying and left his ****, they laughed at him
