Decided to take a swing by Twin Cities Reptiles and picked up this beauty. Fiancee was not happy about the price but I am very happy with her
I have named her Bella.

How much was she?
Jasper2687
03-10-13, 12:55 AM
She cost me 1200.
I also know I could have found one cheaper online but the temps here have not been high enough for shipping and I have a lack of patience for when I want something.

You could have ordered one online for about half that price, I definitely would have waited or negotiated a better price.
Awesome snake though, my favorite BP morph.

Appease the fiance by calling it an investment.

Beautiful snake! I have not been to Twin City Reptiles in years, glad to hear its still going strong. I hate when people tell you you could have "got a better deal," main thing is you got the snake you are happy with and when you can inspect in person it's all the better. A couple hundred bucks here and there in this hobby is nothing in the long run.

Half the price she paid makes a huge difference then just a couple hundred.

What?!? Lucy's only cost about $600 now? I remember when they were so much more a few years ago!

I am actually a guy and I am fine with how much I paid for her. She is a great snake and I have wanted a Lucy ever since I saw one of them. Plus since it is still winter in Minnesota I cant get people to ship here until the weather warms up and I wanted her now.

Do you remember when you first signed up and you kept getting shut down because what you were saying was complete BS and people were tired of correcting you? Then you started a thread apologizing and then Korbin started standing up for you so everyone would leave you alone and let you 'learn'
You're back peddling. Let's not forget the work Korbin did so you could have a dry diaper.

There have been multiple for sale recently for around $600-700. Nothing I am saying is bs.

yeah me too, this snake is on my dream list.
$1200...
I guess I've spent that on a gun before...
What is the life span?

most balls that are well cared for will live past 20 years, compared to spending 5 grand on a dog that will live 12, its a good deal lol

I just want to see the QUALITY of this $600 leucy. For all we know it could be a normal that got mixed up in some paint... or a corn snake

I have checked them out already before I purchased mine. I wanted a female since I wanted a bigger snake and because I plan on breeding her in the future. The weather here sucks as well so nobody would ship me a Lucy for a while anyway.
There are quite a few for sale out there between 675-800 but those are males. I found a female for 1150 as well.

A female BEL for under $900 would be a great deal. I have a side business finding and importing snakes and have been looking for one and have yet to see a female for $600.

Corey got me all excited.. Smh. I know bumblebees and spiders as well as other morphs have gone down in price over the years, but nothing beats an all white snake. Corey, I'd have to agree with Lady Bug here, you should really stop giving information on things you know nothing of.. I'm starting to think you're a troll.

Actually it is.
You have no proof considering I posted actual ads.
I saw males for $700+. This is a female. You need to compare proper ads.
Also, even if you saw ONE ad it doesn't mean they all will be had for such a price. Don't speak if you don't know. This is why I get e-mails from customers saying "My friend says it's only worth XX dollars."

my plan to get one is a little more complex lol, before the 2014 breeding season im going to gather up the required parentage and breed my own lol

not sure what you mean, you say that like i cant breed some and have my show pets too. a BEL would be awesome, but a BEL i helped sire myself would mean so much more to me. and when her brothers and sisters find new homes the income can help me invest in better enclosures for all of them

As I said you're only interested in breeding for the sake of breeding for your own collection.
I am saying that the best thing you'll get out of your breeding is a BEL, which you want and that's cool. If you breed for more than one's hobby then a BEL would be moreso a secondary morph to something better from the pairing.
For example. A pastel mojave x pastel mojave can grant me:
Normals
Pastels
Mojaves
Pastel Mojaves
Super Pastels
Lucy's
Pastel Lucy's
Super pastel Lucy's
In this situation, I'd probably be aiming for the super pastel lucy and if I got a lucy it's a secondary item that will simply be sold.

ah i gotcha now, yeah its a mix, im starting for myself but plan to expand, going for the BEL will probably be my first snake pairing, but i will definitely be expanding down the road with more space. plus the variety of morphs is mind boggling i will need all that time to learn lol

Why not start now? You're just putting yourself even further behind the eight ball soto speak.
Gravelanche
03-12-13, 02:11 PM
well the primary reason is i dont know a ton about breeding and morphs yet, and the one i know for sure i like is the BEL. also the parentage for that as far as morphs go is relatively affordable. who knows though, lot could happen between now and the fall, could have a nice little collection of morphs by then.

The reason he doesn't start now is because he can't afford a thermostat. Why you ask? Because he bough some more snakes instead. Oh and a hatchling rack for some lizards that haven't even laid eggs yet.
He will definitely be the next Donald Trump....

hey look, sarcasm, what a surprise. i will humor you i supose, first, the eggs will be here in the 2 weeks it will take to get the rack made, second i cant afford a $125 thermostat at the moment, o ****ing no my snakes will have to wait a month on a manual thermostat while i save a bit extra, im sorry, weddings are expensive. and yes, i bought a handful of snakes because for once within 200 miles there was somewhere i could get a good price. and that good price is STILL more than you pay in the US. so it was either get them now and make them "suffer" through a steady temperature gradient for a little while or spent about 40% more in the long run for the same ****

First off I'm in Canada.
Secondly how long will it take your eggs to incubate?
What are you going to incubate them in?
Finally I like how you throw the "expensive wedding" thing in there. Why not spend your money on the wedding if it cost so much?
Prioritizing is not your strong point is it?

The cheapest I have ever seen (and I look every day) was $700 BUT IT WAS A MALE. I've never heard of a FEMALE going for under a grand. (I wish lol)
@ the op- so... have you been googling "male phantoms" yet??

I like the grey color on the one. I have also been looking at super black pastels.
