Hello! I am new to snakes and am looking for knowledge. I'm sure I'll find tons here.

I've wanted a Sand Boa for a couple years now and finally decided to start looking for one. I don't know why they are so attractive to me... Ever since the first one I saw I just thought they were COOL!

That's great, thanks!!
I looked today and NO ONE has them locally. Bummed.
One store said they can order one but I think I want to at least see the snake before making a commitment to buy.

I'd look around at all types of sand, rubber and rosy boas.

kingsnake.com Classifieds: Indian Sand Boas (#11208) (http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=61&de=963843)

There's a lot to choose from before picking one.

Have a new one myself and it's a great little snake. He also was easy to switch from live to frozen/thawed.

And welcome to the jungle. ;)

Welcome c:
I have/had the same attraction to sand boas, and after about 3 years of owning no snakes I finally caved in and bought one.

They are awesome little snakes.
Some tips: No sand (especially calci-sand). (I was given some sand with the snake after purchasing, and my snake got an RI about a week after I got him/vet blamed the sand) Aspen has worked great.

Try to keep the temperatures as steady as possible. My snake gets really finicky if the temp dips a lot.
