I tried using the identification guide in the sticky but have no idea what to look for. She is in blue as well which makes it even harder for a boa constrictor newbie.
I adopted this adult female tonight. Other than knowing its some sort of bc I bring nothing to the table.

Another one .
I'm guessing B.c.imperator, only because the saddles resemble those on my Bci.
Anyone else?

Thank you! I wager, just from eyeballing and comparing her against my other snakes, I'd reckon about 6 ft+ maybe 7. And that would be conservative. She's in blue atm, so I'm not going to attempt any unnecessary handling for a couple of weeks.
I thought she might be a bci Costa Rica locality. Simply because she is so dark compared to other common boas. Her tail saddles are almost brown, and the area between the saddles is quite dark.
Do the saddles normally have light circles in the middle? Also she has some iridescence when in my fluker, didn't know rtbs had this.

Also, any guesses on age? I don't know the growth rates well enough for this species. 2yrs? 3?
My BCI hypo female is 2 years old and is 5 feet. I'd say if yours is 7 maybe 3 years or so?
Definitely looks like a common BCI. Beautiful snake!

Now is the common BCI the BCI Colombie on the sticky ID chart?
At maybe 3 years and 7ft. Do you suppose this is her max growth or could she go an max out at 10 ft. I'm hoping she won't grow much more.
Cool thanks all.
Also, she may have locked up a few times with a male BCI in her previous enclosure. Since I'm not prepared to play midwife, is there anything you can tell about how to tell?
Looking at her in her water bowl i highly doubt shes gravid. A gravid boa would be in hcp on the heat and her body temp has to stay above 87-88 for the babies to make it. My 2 yr old boas average 3 ft lol there is zero way to tell age by size bc it literally depends on feeding regimen. Bcis very rarely grow past 7 ft

Thanks. That's a relief. Didn't feel like buying/making a 6 x 3 x 2. She's in blue so I've packed a hide on the warm side with misted sphag moss. Hygrometer is about 70%. Acceptable?
Though she has yet to leave her water tray. I've covered it with some extra silk plants to give her cover. I have her in an enormous rubbermaid tub. Her water dish is actually a sweater tub, and her hide is another sweater tub with a hole cut in the top and moss wrapped around the hole.
Basically same husbandry for my BPs in blue but in a larger scale.
