my mice just had babies and someone gave me a baby rat i put it in with the mice do u guys think it will live and get big or just die it would be cool and all if it lives

Define baby, is it weened, eating and drinking on its own? If not then it is going to die. If it is then it is going to kill your mice first chance it gets.

well u r right after i made this thread i went down to check on them it is no were to be seen and by the way it was not weened yet oo well
you shouldn't mix mice and rats. they will eat each other.

I think snakeman just found that out. BTW no harm in trying no biggy.
It is easy to make mice and rats adoptive mothers of their own species but mixing is well not easily done.

even if it was just born, rat pups can be the size of hopper mice if im right, and if the pics from rodentpro.com are right.

feed the rat on baby food through a suringe and move it away from the mice it will kill, them
