I am looking to buy a vision cage V222 for one of my GTPs. Its 28"Wx24"Dx24"H. But what I'm a little unsure about, is the heat lamp position. Check out the link: V222 Vision cage (http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/vision-cages-racks-and-tubs/vision-cages-and-tubs/-/v222-vision-cage/)

Also, what would make good removable perches for the GTP?

Heres the link to the video of what Im keeping them in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-0QdztlQKg

Most of the visions have an inner lip on top of the sliding glass doors, they are fantastic cages, but people who don't know about the inner lip could think a snake is missing, leave the door open while searching and lose their snake.

Its a pain for small elapids, but with a gtp (especially the more heavy bodied adults) you shouldn't have a problem.

The lip and space between the two doors is the only thing I can't stand about Visions... I don't know why they haven't figured some way to get rid of that....

It's absolutely ridiculous... nightmare for hots, Even worse for cleaning after an animal goes to the bathroom up there.

What about the PVCcages. They offer self assemble and pre assembled (for a lot more $). any experience on these?

I like the PVC cages, but be sure to clean them asap if your snake pees, they tend to stain a bit. If you plan to stack them be sure to give them support on the bottom so they don't bow

did you get the pre assembled ones?

I have both, they are made of PVCX
Retic urine is pretty strong but I think if retic urine can do it to the cages in 4 months, then any snakes urine should stain the cages given enough time.
(I check my cages 2-3 times a day, any messes get cleaned immediately)

I wish I would've read this sooner. Check out PVC cages on the board of inquiry.
