...and so it continues. Federal Exotic Animal Ban to be Introduced Soon: The Return of HR669 | United States Herpetoculture Alliance (http://usherp.org/2013/02/27/federal-reptile-ban/)
What makes this different than any of the others that have recently been defeated?

Well, I'll definitely oppose this. I adore my scaley friends, and I already know some feathered friends that are banned where I live due to their potential threat if they escape or are released into the wild(Quakers Parrot). I can't imagine any more animals being banned just because someone is too much of a pansy and thinks that we're too irresponsible to care for our own animals and they automatically assume we don't understand the risks and dangers of owning our animals.
I love my reptiles, especially with all the time, money, and caring I put forth to make sure they're happy in their little mini-biome, but(don't take this the wrong way because I'd fight for my reptiles, too) if someone dares mess with my birds, they'll regret they were ever born, because those birds are like my own flesh and blood in my eyes, and I know that(in more tropical climates, like the way southern states) if a certain amount of parrots got loose, yeah, they could thrive, so this bill would pose a threat to not just reptiles, but birds as well. In reality, as the article states, it even poses a threat to some exotic mammals.
