I woke up this morning and saw that my 4 year old female leo was flat on her belly, legs tucked behind her body, and eyes closed. It just didn;t look right. I checked her out and she was cold and still.

Any theories on what is wrong with her? She was fine last night. She just ate yesterday, temps are normal. I gave her a misting, (cause she likes those) and all she did was open her eyes a little. There is another female in there with her, and she is fine.

How can I help her? I know there is a lot of knowledge in here, so let's here it!! lol

Thanks guys.

Sounds to me like it could be impaction... Im no expert in leo husbandry, but i know when a animal lays with its legs back and isnt moving its most likely a impaction.. Mayeb try to force feed her some kind of oil (vegetable oil maybe) im not exactly sure what kind of oil to use but it does sound like impaction IMO! sorry i cant help you anymore tom, and again im not an expert just trying to diagnose with a hypothosis....

Tom: There wasn't much info in your post that sounded like anything was wrong to me. I know that our leos often lay in that position, but they dont like to get sprayed so it shouldve moved some when you did that. I have no experience with impacted leos, so I don't know the signs or much about it. My best advice is to take her to a vet before you start treating her for anything. What kind of substrate is she on?

Jeff: FYI, mineral oil all the way :) I don't know how good vegetable oil would be for them.........................
