Shipping Snakes of the Departed

Hello, everyone. HANorth, I think was her username here, more of a watcher than a poster, I dont think anyone would know her here... But anyway, she passed away this weekend, and left her snakes to me in her will. However she moved a few states away this past year, and I'm not sure if I will be able to make it to the funeral.

Therefor her family may need to ship the snakes (4 corns, a hognose, and a bull) from NM to FL. None of us have gone about shipping snakes before, and while google has provided some options, I thought it would be best to ask you guys about this, thinking you surely would have opinions/experience.

Does anyone have a preferred method of shipping reptiles?
Any tips on packaging or anything?
Honestly a how to from someone here would be great. (I trust the people on this site more than the general internet at large, tbh...)

If you go to Shipyourreptiles.com, they have shipping guidelines and kits you can buy to help you out. They will send you the supplies, you can schedule your shipping through them and all. Let me know if you have trouble finding the site or need extra help.

Fed EX over night Have them make sure it marked live harmless reptiles. Shipping won't be cheap, but if they are all put in separated bags they can be shipped in one box. Be sure to have them include heat pack. 6 hour ones would be best. Then check the weather forecast for a day that the temps will be 40 or higher.

My sympathies on the loss of your friend. This organization may help you. It's private pilots that set up transport shuttles for animals. They volunteer their time, planes and fuel. It's a nice set up the animals are transported within the plane not in cargo holds. I have heard of them transporting animals of people who passed.

This is incorrect, a 40 hour heat pack is the MINIMUM that should be used for live reptile shipping. The hand warmer packs not only run for a much shorter period, but they also reach a higher overall temperature, you don't want either one of those results. Use a 40 hour, 60 or 72 hour heat pack for live shipments.
