Found this cool little millipede in my yard while i was cleaning. I never knew we had these here along with red centipedes that i saw but i couldn't catch them.
Anybody know what kind it is? I live in southern California.

Looks like a common garden millipede. The scientific name is Oxidus gracilis. Millipedes and centipedes aren't as exotic as we think. They are just smaller here.

The red centipede is then probably Lithobius forficatus. Here in the Netherlands you can find both the red centipede and common garden millipede (which probably have again way too many subspecies to tell apart) by lifting up logs and potted plants in your backyard...especially when there are also snails and woodlice underneath it, as they avidly hunt for these.
The centipedes here can have an annoying bite, and surprisingly strong for such a small guy, but the millipedes are harmless and quite funny to wath :).
