Hi everyone! I've been reading your forum for a week now and want to say thanks for all the great posts, information, pictures, ideas, and more!

I am in the processes of building a new enclosure for my boa and with so many knowledgeable people out there, I thought I would share my ideas and ask for any advice you might have! :hmm:

Here's where I am am so far. I have two panels for the sides measuring 24" X 26.5" built from 1/4" plexiglass framed with birch, non directional at this point.

22651

I plan to make one more panel for the front which will be attached with a piano hinge to allow full access, hinging downward, with a latch or two at the top to prevent escape. Size is undetermined.

The back, bottom, and top will be birch 2-sided plywood, 3/8" thick.

At this point I am thinking 26.5" high, 24" deep, and 36-48" across.

80 watt radiant heat panel attached along the back or top with a thermostat.

I am also going to build a cabinet with wheels for the bottom.

Other thoughts:
Drill holes along the back or install small vents for fresh air.
Increase the height by adding plywood panels.
Back wall substrate, use a rock wall imitation.
Add a shelf and branches for climbing.
Vinyl substrate on the bottom for cleaning.
Add an addition at a later time for other reptiles, gecko, another snake, etc.

Thanks!
