time to introduce the leopard geckos, a leo was the first reptile i ever bought, and the first species i bred, so they will always have a place in my reptile room.

Do you have anymore photos of that melanistic?

I like the super mack stuff and a good quality mack, so many wash out a lot though which isn't great, but a nice quality one is a great looking gecko.

i have this one uploaded, unfortunately it wasn't in great shape when it came to me, and never fully pulled round, turns out she had an enlarged heart a long with some other internal issues aswell, which was a great shame, as she was a stunning girl, i managed to pull her round quite a bit, but in the end it was all too much strain on her heart.

I wonder if her colour was due to her health.

Wow , they are so pretty !!
I wonder if her colour was due to her health.
I was thinking it could have been down to possibly being incubated wrong with temperature spikes and drops that caused the organs to form wrong and the colour to be darker, it is a possibility it was all linked, was a shame as i would have liked to have bred her and seen if she passed it on.
Wow , they are so pretty !!
Thank you, got to love leos.

I thought I had read that enigmas -though exceptionally beautiful- tend to have neuro issues and that most did not survive long once they were breeding age.
What has been your experience with them?

My favorite is the normal leo. They all have such cute faces though. I also like the black and white dotted tail on the hypo enigma

Enigmas do have the neuro issues, and when breeding enigma to enigma babies do end up spinning and not doing well, however with outcrossing my enigmas now show no issues, any line that did i stopped working with, i have taken a few in that have been really bad, but even then they survive for years they just need some help with feeding, as some can't focus long enough to grab the food, but i wouldn't breed them if they were in that condition, and i would have stopped breeding enigmas if any of the babies or my adult breeders were showing the neuro issues. I like the gene though, you never know what you are going to get from an enigma, always comes out different patterned.

Thank you, the normal leo came to me as an adult, and had lost most of her toes due to stuck shed, she had 4 layers on them that with lots of soaking and working it off managed to come off completely, i've only bred her once so that i had a baby from her to keep back, and then she was retired as a pet animal, so she can live out her days in peace. Very sweet natured girl.

That's what happened to my girly's toes before I got a hold of her; mostly the ends so she sometimes has a hard time gripping on things she's climbing over, but she does well :).
Awesome geckos, that tremper super snow is absolutely gorgeous. Reminds me that I have to get around putting up pics of mine since I haven't thus far.
Sad to hear about that melanistic she looks like she was a cute little thing :). I've had two previous geckos that passed away sadly so I know how trying it can be when they don't come around.
