I love the angry baby. I would definitly consider getting a beardie if I had more lee way of what I can have. Stupid parents lol not wanting me to fill my room with reptiles. :( haha. Good news is I might be able to get 1 more ;) and then maybe another one after that.

They are a real love or hate thing, i personally like them, and have kept and raised a few with no issues now, but then i see people who have loads of shedding issues with theirs, this one was given to me as it was having issues, but i managed to get the skin off and now it is alright. I have a few leathers, one of the reds pictured above is a leather back.

Lol, i remember my mum saying i'd never be allowed a snake, now i specialize in breeding reticulated pythons and have kept and bred hundreds lol. Always a way around it lol.

Yep haha. It's mostly my dad. He doesn't like pets. If it was his way we would have none but it doesn't help when even my sisters and my mom don't really like them. My mom doesn't mind them but she would never help me fight for getting one.

Ah got to win your dad over then, a cute baby bearded normally does the trick lol

The only bad part about beardeds are the feeding costs - if you don't breed your own food supply. Mine is 6 months old (got her at 2 months) and has been costing me about $20/week in crickets (plus the cost of veggies which isn't as big a deal because I eat them too). I have a young roach colony (had it for about 3 weeks now) that will be ready in a couple more months - should have started it before I ever got my bearded.

Yea plus I can't even have roaches since I'm in Canada.

They do go through so much food, especially when growing, it is good that i also work with reptiles for a living, so i get all my food at trade price, which helps massively to reduce the bill.

Nice pics!!

Thank you

I can attest to the high food bill too. I was not ready for it when I got my beardie. I really wish someone would have told me about it before I got him because I spent at least $55 in food a month when he was growing.

I'd really like to see your 'German giant' female next to an actual adult bearded and not a juvie.

They do go through so much food, like eating machines.

They are both the same age in that picture, both around the 18 month mark there. I don't necessarily buy into the german giant thing as i have seen normal beardeds just as big, but she is around 2ft long in that picture, a decent size.

These kind of pics always make me miss my old beardie. They have the best little personalities...I would get another but they are high maintenance and expensive to feed...and need bigger enclosures than I'm willing to squeeze into this apartment.

Anyway, the babies in the tub are so adorable I could just squeeze 'em! I love how tiny they are at that age!

Is the silkback really soft? He looks soft...

Sorry but it I don't believe you, that supposed 18 month old male shows no signs of adult hood, where as that female looks exactly like my 3 year old as far as adult shape. Sorry until I see it next to a beardie that actually qualifies as an adult.

I've only ever seen one 'giant Dragon' he was 26 inches, a giant citrus and was proven to not be of German giant bloodline.

He is very soft, they feel kind of like pinkie mice to the touch lol.

Believe me or don't, it really does not matter to me, i know they are both the same age, as the male i bred myself, and the female came from a friend of mine who paid over the odds for a german giant pair, and hatched 10 days after the clutch that the male was from. He actually had a crack at mating with her a few days after the photo was taken, nothing special came from the clutch though, in size or colour, and were sold to a shop.

Means nothing, males can reach maturity at 9-10 months.

Would you consider taking a picture of that female next to say the adult normal you have about half way through the pictures, I am legitimately curious to see her size.

I've actually had a male mate and successfully get a fertile clutch at 6 months old, the point was more that i know the full history and ages of both those animals.
I've worked with over 1000 beardeds and kept over 40 personally, and this girl has been my personal biggest, length wise anyway, i've seen many much much heavier than her, and much wider. And there have been bigger that have come though work, i'm not claiming she is anything special, as far as i am concerned she is a nice normal looking dragon with decent size, but she comes from german giant lineage so it is how she is identified from the others.

When i do my next upload of pictures i will put more up of her, and some of the others aswell,

My issues isn't with you claiming she is of German giant bloodline it's that the beardie you have her pictured with for comparison looks no where near her age which is why I'm asking for another picture.

It's the same as if I took a picture of a year old ball next to a hatchling and expected people to compare them as if they were the same age. I don't know the age of them other then taking your word for it and I've never seen an 18 month old look like such a juvie.Your male looks more like my Dragon when she was 6 months and the female actually looks like an adult.

But whatever.

Well if we are talking about royals i could show you a yr old thats less than 400 grams and a yr old thats over 1200 grams. Everything will grow at its own rate. The picture was never designed to be a size comparison between the 2 anyway. The fact i said german giant with normal is just how they are differentiated, and because i quite like the picture. Nothing to do with the size of either of them. I just think the picture shows the males colours quite nicely. I'm not fussed if you believe me or not. I know their ages and that is good enough for me. If you choose to disbelieve me. Feel free, i will continue to know their correct ages regardless.
