If all goes well, my new little Hoggie will be coming home tomorrow.

I have some questions though. She is used to eating on Saturday. If she comes home tomorrow, should I try offering her a meal or just skip it until next Saturday without even trying?

She is being fed mice. Should I try switching her to rats right off the bat, or let her have a familiar meal to start her off in her new home?

Thanks for your opinions. I am so excited to bring her home and to watch her grow and change. I decided to name her Saria, to go along with the male's name, Hylia.

Here is a picture of her.

And here's a picture of Hylia, he's a little over 36 inches now and he has become so coloful. It's hard to imagine that once upon a time, he was a tiny little brown thing, lol.

very very impressive hog!! so very light and creamy. I would wait until next weekend and I would put her on rats of the equal size to the mice she was getting :)

She really is deliciously delicate looking---in a boa sort of way! What does her name mean?

Thanks. I can't wait to get her home. I can't believe how small she is. I am so happy that her owners agreed to keep her for me while I set up her enclosure, otherwise I may not have been able to get her.

@Ms. Medusa, I don't know what her name means, it's a character from the Legend of Zelda. The male's name (Hylia) is also from Zelda. My friend named him that so I figured I'd stick with the Zelda theme. He is actually her snake that I am watching while she takes care of her grandma. So, she gave me her ssnakess account.

Thanks everyone. Haven't taken her out or anything yet, just giving her a chance to settle. I will offer her something to eat tomorrow and see if she takes it. I love her markings too, she looks so different from the male. I am going to enjoy watching her grow and color up!

Skip until next Saturday. Give her time to settle in first. She'll be more likely to eat then, and you won't waste a rat by trying to feed sooner.

You can try switching her to rats right off the bat.

And share photos with us once she's settled :D Congrats!

I offer food to my snakes within 24 hrs of getting them home.. All of mine have eaten same day with no issues.

Just realized the date on this thread.. I'm a little behind I guess.

Thanks for the reply anyways, it's appreciated and interesting to know what others do. She ate a f/t rat pup on Friday :)
