My newbie wanted one of these for years got one at last was very surprised to see him out basking not something I expected to see at all.

Yep he does mate hes got a 4 by 2 pond to call home at the minute.

6" snout to vent

16" to 30" adult size

100lb plus in weight

One suggest if I may. These are very strong animals at any size. I see you have rocks piled up. Be aware these guys like to dig in places. My fear would be a trapped turtle under the toppled rock.
Something to think about.

Those rocks are glued down like i said i wanted one of these for years just like my monitors i take any animal i keep seriously.

Oh i will
Not 100% sure where im going with this project yet though id love to take a stab at breeding got a while to go before i can sex it.

Not really sure i cant seem to find anything solid on growth rates.

I know they become sexualyl mature at 10yrs plus...

Beyond that i couldnt say.

I have a friend who rescues snappers. He has a 120+ lb alligator snapper along with many others. I'll get a hold of him and see if I can give you his email address. He would be a great person to answer your questions.
