Cage In progress

So I started building a cage about a week ago and I'm getting close to being done but I am struggling heating it correctly. It's for my White Lipped Python but I haven't put him in yet. Right now I have a 100 watt bulb in there and it makes a hot spot of about 105 which is too hot but it gets the ambient temps at a decent range. Do you think I could get it heated correctly using a heat lamp? It's about 4x2x2. The cage is melamine so I won't be able to use any UTH. I was toying with the idea of a RHP or heat cord. But to be honest I am no expert when it comes to building cages so I was also thinking about spending the money to get something professional. Which cages do you guys prefer? along with the type of heating.

I notice you do t have the bulb covered, you REALLY need a guard on it or the snake is gomna get very hurt :)

haha yeah I know but I don't really want to have to deal with taking off the cover while trying to find the correct bulb. It's still going to take a little bit of time before I put him in there.

I would either try a 75 watt bulb or go with a RHP.

I would try a lower wattage also. It will reduce your basking temp, and your ambient temps will increase as your light stays on longer before the thermostat kicks in. The RHP is also a good idea.
