This was the first snake i ever remember seeing in a book. The book had five hundred pages with animal pictures and this was the only snake in it. I always turned to this picture first and looked at it last and it triggered my love for snakes. I just widh it didnt take me so many years to start keeping them myself :)

I also want to note that even the blue/anery ones are born completely normal looking or have diluted orange when born. They lose the orange and take on a blue/green tint to varying degrees as they mature while some in the litter retain their normal or diluted orange look into adulthood. Some just end up hypoerythristic,(yellow spotted) some stay normal,(varying shades of orange) some turn B&W anery, and some turn exceptionally blue.

Very cool! I wish we had that much diversity in our garters here in Ontario!

spring has sprung, we had a week or so in the 60's & 70's (F) and I've been seeing garters out and even mating. Here's a few very recent finds:

Wow again, nice photos!
Nice pictures man. What lens are you using?

Inexpensive camera but in my opinion it's the best camera series you can buy in it's price range. The Nikon Coolpix series has a wide range of prices, models, and capabilities but they all share that superb Nikkor lens and are the easiest cameras I ever used. I used the Nikon Coolpix S6000 model here. You can get that one or even a better model now for under $200 or so. They also have higher end models typically with higher optical zoom and better macro capabilities. Most models also shoot absolutely stunning HD video with stereo sound. Rechargable Lithium-Ion battery (just plug camera into USB wall charger or computer to charge) lasts a long time too.
One of my anery males just shed and is looking sharp. T. sirtalis concinnus:
