Just wanted to introduce myself! While Snakes are not new to me this is the first pair I have owned in probably ten closer to fifteen years and my first boas. I picked up a pair of Dumeril boas at the Manchester, NH reptile expo last week and am super psyched to share them with the world! Tomorrow is weigh and feed day for all our animals (we have mostly Rhacodactylus geckos, and are raising about a dozen leachianus right now in hopes to breed them in the next few years) You can find us on FB as Island Giants. My name is Michelle Katz and I am nearing the end of my first year as a hobbyist. My boyfriend and I started with one crested gecko and one turned to four turned into 30+ animals in a year. :wacky: Anyways we picked up our Dumeril pair and I have to say I am completely in love! I wanted to get a snake and was talking myself out of it at the show (prices for balls are a bit out of what I am willing to pay for a snake) when I saw these beautiful babies! Tried to walk away but after not too much thought I was right back to them cash in hand! Eros and Psyche are settling in nicely and I am struggling not to handle them too much as they are so spectacular!
Glad to be here at ssnakess.com! Pictures to come! But here's a teaser of Eros..

Welcome to the site and back to the hobby.
It always starts with a pair, I was in the same boat as you, having kept snakes and other reptiles for most of my youth and early adulthood, I strayed from the hobby at 23(career and a family) and 5 years ago, got a pair of my favorite milk snakes, today my collection is up to 40 snakes and counting along with breeding projects and turtles lol good luck

Wow thanks everybody!! I'm glad to be here! I'm sure in the next few days you will hear plenty of griping from me as I just tried to feed these little monsters some F/T and they are looking at it like it is garbage sooooo.. let the fun begin! Didn't get many pics because feeding took so long but I am super excited to share them with you all!

Welcome... how did you offer the prey? Was it warm? It's quite possible that its still stressed from the move so just give it a while to settle (good few days) and try again... Goodluck and make sure to post more pics if this little stunner :)

Aw she's beautiful nikib.2010. Sorry for lack of pictures. I broke my phone and misplaced my old camera.. I know, sounds pretty ridiculous but money is tight and I have lot of rats to buy ;) Thanks for all the love! They are growing like weeds!
