She can be a little moody. Sometimes she doesn't want to be touched but she sure does like you if you have food.

My beardie, most of the time, seems to really enjoy being handled. She'll spread out in my hand/arm and do a little wiggle to flatten herself down so she has lots of contact. I'll scratch her head between her eyes and she'll lean her head up into my finger or I'll rub down her spine, almost like petting a dog. She'll fall asleep and go from a gray/orange/brown color to an all brown and tan color. Only time she turns those colors.
If she doesn't want to be handled, she'll take off running and jumping all over the place.

Mine was quite tame, when she was angry she was all show but no bite. She knew my voice, if she was on the floor and I walked up too fast she'd freak out and flare her beard, flatten and hiss. All I had to say was "it's just me" and she would immediately calm right down.
She also used to 'cuddle' up beside me on the couch. she would wriggle her way against me as tight as she could, then fall asleep with her little 'hands' up by her face. She was adorable. I miss her.
Your pics are very cute, btw :)

Nice dragon! When my dragon was "growing up" she hated any contact. It was so bad and she was so stressed I didn't handle her at all for the first 6+ months. Now she has calmed down and is fine with handling.

She's decided she doesn't want to be touched at all now, haha. I hope this is a phase.

Does she do okay with big pieces of food like that? Up until this past weekend I've been spending 1.5-2 hours a week cutting up fruits and veggies (collard and mustard greens, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, peppers). Bought a vegetable dicer this weekend that you put the sliced veggies in, push down on the top, and it cuts them into 1/16" cubes. It cut my prep time from 2 hours to about 10 minutes.
I figured that if the credo on insect size to feed them nothing bigger than space between the eyes, the same was true of veggies...

She has zero issue with tearing up large leaves herself. I just rip portions off for her and my other dragon and they do the rest of the work themselves. No need to chop leafy greens up here. I only chop hard vegetables into bite sized pieces.

Sounds good to me, not like anyone cuts up leaves for them in the wild ;)

I know they don't get things cut up nicely in the wild. I just like to confirm how others do before I do anything for mine. I'll probably keep cutting mine up though. I feed my roaches and crickets from the same supply of chopped foods and the insects always seem to avoid eating the big leafy pieces but if I cut them small, they eat them like crazy.

All this thing does is eat. It's awesome.
She is the destroyer of salads and insects alike.

I can't seem to enjoy the leather back craze as much as everyone else. I love beardies, common pet or not, they are one of my favorites. But I like the more natural looking, with all roughness haha
Never the less, nice beardy. Looks fat and happy like most of em haha

Your beardie is very pretty! I've never had one from a hatchling... I bet it's neat to see them grow. :)
Your beardie is too cute! You've had her since she was how old?
