Hey guys.. I had to do a few things to the gargs tank so I figured I would snap a few pics really fast. I won't be bugging these guys again for about a week minus food and water changes.

As of right now I have my 2 babies set up in a 10 gallon tank with a ton of vines, branches for hiding. I have 2 water dishes and 2 food dishes so that they can stay apart if they choose. I am also prepared to separate them into their own 10 gallon tanks if need be.

I have wanted geckos for a while and I go an amazing deal on these 2. Enjoy !

Cuties :) will the tail grow back?

Gungirl

Yes the tail should grow back 100% but even if it doesn't I am very happy with him :)

Those are really cool. Do they respond well to handling?

Gungirl

Callisto is a bit jumpy but Demeter does real well as of right now. From my research they do tend to be ok with average handling but some are jumpers and should be kept close to the floor just in case. I will not be hands on with these guys much but maybe once or twice a week for 10-15 minutes.

There was a leachie at the expo I went to for $100, It was very very nice looking and if I had seen it before I bought these guys I might have grabbed it up. Keep your eyes open you never know....

Question for you guys.. What do you think the best base to keep them on is? I have them on cypress right now because that was all I had in the house. I am going shopping today and can get some other stuff if there is something better.

I keep them on paper towel when they are babies and then change them to plantation soil/ coco fibre when they get a little older.

Hrmm.. I would rather not go to paper towels but if that is best for them I will. Any other suggestions out there?

Yeah paper towels aren't really nice to look at. But it prevents them from ingesting substrate when they are so small. If you really don't want to then the coco fibre is the next best thing.

Paper towels for me aswell... Easier and no risk of them trying to eat the stuff haha

Ok I will switch out to paper towels today then.. I want what is best for them not me.

How large should then be before I switch them to a different base?

The rest where around $1000...

That is the type of price I often see. Can't see spending that much on one. Don't know why they tend to be so awefully expensive.

I have a feeling I will end up getting one sooner or later.. they are amazing looking.

A lot of them average for $1000-$2000 depending on coloration.

Price depends mostly on locale...and age and sex.

Sweet new additions, Kat!! Geckos are so cute. Callisto's eye color is amazing though. Will the coloring of these 2 stay the same or change as they grow?

It was probably so low because I am guessing it was a mixed locale. The pure ones are extremely expensive.
