A little help here

Hi guys I am new here and just needed some advice.
My Kenyan Sand boa Dru 5 months ago escaped her enclosure. We couldn't find her at all. Tonight she decided to show my dog that she was in fact still alive! I am so happy but she is incredibly thin and definitley needs to eat. I wasn't sure given the circumstances if her normal eating habits would suffice or if I needed to do something special? Just so you know she gets live mice and regular size feeders. I have also noticed some scars and a fresh scratch on her

get a secure enclosure

You should definitely try to switch to f/t, for starters, its just safer for the snake. (Try is the main word there, don't starve the little fellow over it.)
Definitely feed the thing! How often did you feed it before the escape?

Get it abck in the enclosure, in proper husbandry conditions and let it settle a couple of days, then try to feed it. Also do you know HOW it got out? And have you made sure it wont happen again ? :)

Yes I have secured her cage. I am still a little amazed that she even survived that long and she has a vet appointment for Monday to get checked out. So just give her a couple of days to get reaclimated to her enclosure and then feed her? Thanks!

if she's used to feweding live,then i would offer her one prey size down (live) from what she normally takes

once she's feeding regular and back to full health,i would try her on frozen thawed

i have NO moral issues with feeding live,but i do have safety issues,as in prey can bite a snake

i'm glad she showed up after all this time mate

thanks Shaun exactly what I needed. She is used to feeding live I have tried numerous times to switch her over but she will not take it! So I make sure I keep a close eye on her while she is eating

imo with her having lost a lot of weight,the main priority is to get her eating,then back to her correct weight...

after that then you could always try frozen

Long story short my boyfriend broke her original enclosure which is why she got out in the first place. I couldn't afford to get her the tank with screen at the time so I got her another tank and place the screen over top. I put a dictionary on the screen and simply forgot how strong she is. She got out again, but I found her an hour later hanging out in the kitchen. I had to calm myself down because I was laughing so hard at her trying to burrow into the linoleum. So far the dictionary and thesaurus have been good at keeping her in her cage. I was just wondering how do I switch her over to frozen she is 8 years old and I have had her for 6 she has always had live food and she won't take frozen. I have tried but she crawls over it like it's part of her enclosure. (don't worry I am getting her a new enclosure with the snap on screen lid thingy)
