A few pics of a wild rattler

Year before last, I was riding some trails on my motorcycle in a local WMA.

I came across the most stunning hot snake I've run across out here.

Crotalus horridus, the timber rattlesnake. Very nice specimen...they are gorgeous animals.

This one was quite relaxed and let me take about 40 pics of it. It was about 3.5 feet long or so. I thought it was cool when he slithered into the brush next to the track, looked back, flicked his tongue and disappeared into the brush.

It was a magnificent animal and even now, I appreciate it's patience with me as I photographed it.
