He's a beaut!!
parden me, but what is he/she??
Steeve, once again you impress me with your monitors:) Lucky you!!!
Steeve, That's an incredible looking monitor.
Colin, Varanus Salvadori - Crocodile monitor.
Steeve, how are the temperments on those guys? We had one come in through a wholesaler, they were charging 1,500$ for him though. It was skittish and nasty as hell! But that all could be due to stress of being moved around.
Once again, amazing monitor. I wish i had a couple to add to my collection :)
The cheapest i know for them is 700$.. I picked up only one crocodile monitor and it must of been a good 5 feet long TAIL INCLUDED..I could not beleive the neck and agressivity of tehose guys ..
I wish you the best of luck with him Steeve .. there really hard species to keep from what i have read on em .. has anyone succesfully bred em' in captivuty yet?

Honestly croc monitors are the ultimate monitor, I have so much to say about them, that I can right a book and I myth just do that. They outsmart any varanid, and probably will overpower all but Komodo, there ability to hunt prey is unique amongst monitor they will literally glide true the branches using there tail as friction brake to catch there prey, an awesome sight. They leap branches to braches with such ease its sometime disconcerting, makes you realise how easily they can get to you. They can make horrific damage with a slashing bite, but in general there none aggressive as a species. WC adults may be long to acclimate and will surly never be a lap dancer, but babies may become quit tractable just as any salvator. Sorong tends to be a little more nervous, even when cb, Merauke are sweet harts, Jayapura well I don’t know yet, but from the large male that was captured they may very well be the biggest of the salvadori group. One thing I know for sure considering the rarity of this monitor, I wouldn’t consider trading them not even for paranties. A friend of mine said just imagine if they where from Australia.
Cheers
Steeve, hearing you speak about Croc's really makes me want one!!! Wow really amazing specimen!
