Hey guys, I was looking around for materials to build one of those DIY Incubators and I came across this incubator that seemed promising. The only thing I didnt like was the egg turner option since it is primarily used for bird eggs, but then I thought that there was probably an off switch to that setting. So I'm asking if this would be a great choice rather than having to make an incubator where most of the materials aren't even found here in my country so I still have to order them in the US. What do you guys think? Here's the link, all details are there: 200 Automatic Setter Incubator - 6824694 (http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/6824694/200+AUTOMATIC+SETTER+INCUBATOR?event=Classified+Ad s,Other+Ads,1#imageGallery)

I already read that thread actually, but like I said, what if the egg turner option would be turned off, can it be a good chondro incubator? He said it hold humidity and temps well but I just want to make sure. Thanks!

Wether your actual incubator holds humidity well or not should never be a concern. You will need to put your eggs in a lidded incubation container. The container controls humidity and the incubator controls the heat.

If you can take the egg turners out and just put in a few shelves so you have a place to put your incubation containers, it would be fine.

Chondros can be tricky to incubate. If this is your first time breeding them, I suggest you use a SIM container.

So basically all the incubator should have is the ability to be very consistent with temps? Then the egg box will be the one responsible for the humidity? And for the SIM container, what size is the right one for chondros as I heard they're pretty small

That is correct. The incubator supplies the heat and the container supplies the humidity.

There are 2 different sized SIM containers.

The standard SIM which is 8" L x 6.75" W x 4.5" H. Perfect for most full sized chondro clutches.

Then there is the SIMXL which is 13" L X 9" W X 6.5" H.

Oh okay. I might order some. Anyway I was researching again and came across an incubator called the Reptipro 6000. I searched around for reviews but only found reviews from chicken breeders, so I dont think that was helpful. What do you guys think about it?
