Hi my son just got a new snake today he is 11 his Dad put a heat lamp over the enclosure and when I came home from work the snake would not move and is very sluggish and looked kinda slimy... Is it possible for a heat lamp to be too hot and the snake to be baked???? I'm freaking out what should i do

yes, it is possible to bake a snake with too much heat.

That's so sad. The poor thing.
I'm going to take a guess and say that everything is wrong with the setup, so there are probably a plethora of things killing the snake right now (if it's not already done). Overheating can definitely do it and very quickly.

Every heater needs to be on a thermostat to prevent things like this happening - i really hope the snake isnt suffereig and pulls through and that you can make the adjustments needed to put things right.
If you let us know the type of snake and what equipment you currently have we should be able to help you out :)
