... Are doing wonderful. Just want to say thanks to you all, since joining this forum, I have brought 2 snakes and adopted over 5 nursing them back to perfext health and finding them all good homes with 2 breeders I know, one from my area and one I met in the pet store I brought my first ball from. I now have no more normals but I am please to say all the normals I did have, have wondefful homes and are alive and healthy till this day. I am rasing my Pastel Het Ghost now from a hatchling and plan to get a couple more morphs soon after I purchase my new rack the end of this month. Im still reading and researching on breeding and Ive had a perfect shed everytime I overseen a bp sheding in my care except once. so again, I just want to say thank you and I will be one of the best Ball Python owners and care taker ever!! I recomend ssnakess.com Daily!!

Yes It is, its incredible the amount of information i've got from here and been able to pass on to others with confidence in everything I share along the way. Wonderful feeling.

Sometimes it can be a pain tho, knowing so much lol in a good way, seeing I just got called for a job at petco and I just hope they are on their game in the reptile section because I cant stand to see an animal being poorly taking care of, especially now. Itll truely be a learning experience tho, taking my knowledge to another level

Most of them have no clue and give info that injures or kills reptiles. The PetCo that's about an hour from here has a full-time guy who's pretty good with reptiles (not an expert, but at least has the ideas about basic husbandry down), so their reptile section is actually decent. Not great, but better than a lot of them. I'm sure if it weren't for him, that wouldn't be the case.

Yea, I guess you are right. I pinpoint reptiles because I feel they do good with everything else but them which is kind of sad but true. I just feel they have different needs then these other animals and with me there, I may be able to balance it off a little with the rest of the store but I start training tomorrow so we'll see. Ill keep learning and researching and hopefully after a while, Ill be able to overlook the whole section of reptiles and be seen as an expert.

Unfortunately, reptile knowledge isn't common, and the only way people who work in these stores would have good knowledge on them would be if they learned it on their own or if there was someone else there who knew about them - which is rare.

Make sure you brush up on geckos if you know mostly just about snakes. If it's anything like our big stores, they sell mostly leos and cresties.

Will do, might even get me a leo myself soon tho im leaning more toward a bearded dragon or a bigger more complex Fish tank. Undecided but I will have alot more space seeing as I just got rid of two 40 breeders with one more to go and will be switching to a rack or two for now

Don't let them throw out live reptiles! They have been found in Petco dumpsters in the past...

Petco has a very bad reputation for their reptile care. Hopefully you can make a difference at that one! At least the poor reptiles there will be a little happier with someone knowledgable looking after them.

Yea I seen the video but of course that iguana must have been forgotten or unseen because I started training today and they keep a freezer in the back for all animals that pass away except fish and the need an accurate account of where the animal is, Dead, alive in tank, or sold. They also have a nursery in the back of the store for sick animals and a check system for checking on them 5 times a day to ensure their status all day long.
