Use NIX or PAM. If you search mites, or Nix, you will find all the info you need :D

Nix....or PAM (Provent a mite). There are a ton of threads on this subject. Top of the page is a search function. Type in the search and hit enter. You will get everything you need to treat the mites.
You came to the right spot!! and are seeking help that's the first step and shes still got an appetite very good news. there's 2 options I would recommend you can purchase some prevent a mite. follow directions closely on the bottle..remove substrate. hides and water bowls..remove snake disinfect the enclosure spray enclosure let it air out then. soak the snake in warm water while doing this bugs drown :) replace snake repeat in 2 wks. p.a.m can and will kill your boa if it comes in direct contact with it, via residue, directly spraying ect. must follow directions on the bottle.
or the nix lice treatment mix, I personally like this one better bc you can treat the boa directly. go to walmart buy nix shampoo (2 oz) fill up an empty milk jug with water and shampoo(very important detail 1 gallon per 2 oz of shampoo)..follow same instructions at the p.a.m. remove contents, sanitize, soak boa. the difference is this stuff can be sprayed directly to the cage and boa. I sprayed the carpet in the snake room as well why not you have a gallon of it lol return water bowl after 24 hours. repeat as needed honestly I spray enclosure everyday for a week. haven't seen a critter since. Now I spray every boa that comes through my door with the nix treatment
my 2 cents lol

I think that it should also be said that if Nix is used improperly it is can also be fatal. Both treatments are permethrin based and can be toxic. Follow both protocols with care. Should also be a little more cautious with baby snakes.

I dont agree with sorry :( nix is safe enough to use on a baby. Its diluted form is deffinitely safe enough for my boas. Everyone I know in the industry uses this method without ever having an ill effect and swear by it. In my personal opinion its safer then the pam.

provent a mite
its a simple spray can, designed for reptiles
you take the snakes and water bowls and place them in a different rooom
then you spray the viv's and the viv contents
wait 2 hours for the fumes to disapate
then wash water bowls with hot soapy water and put the bowls and the snakes back into their viv's
it remains active for 30 days,so NO need for repeat treatments, like other methods require
its also great for quarantine viv's for new arrivals
use once mites dead,it's that easy mate
cheers shaun

I use NIX and i recomend it.... i dont remove nothing but the waterbowl and the snake.... and i spray the snake(s) and let em soak for a while then back in the viv and 24 hours after i put the waterbowl back in the viv... repeat a couple of times over a 7 day period.... easy...

Also it is designed to be used ONCE every THIRTY DAYS, using it every day you are just asking for the snake to get toxic poisoning.
Whatever you decide to use FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!!
THIS 1000 times
IF YOU USE PYRETHRIN BE WARNED: if you dont follow the instructions you could have pyrethrin toxins build up in your snake.

Nix and provent a mite are not as readily available over here (can't be bought off the shelf) and as far as I am aware you will have to order online which may take a few days to be delivered. If you can't get hold of them before you would like to the treatments I know of that I have seen on the shelf are callingtons and ardap. I haven't used ardap but callingtons you take the water out and then spray the enclosure with the snake in and then replace the water after 24 hours. You then repeat after 7 days as it does not kill the eggs.

I fully agree....but I still stand by with being a little extra cautious with babies.

Cheers shaun method seems a lot easyier and simpler than the others. I'm not lazy but just means if its easy to follow and can't get it wrong. And people ill obviously read the instructions I would hate to make my snake ill or dead !! There my babys

Sorry I'm not sure about prevent a mite I may have mentioned the wrong products but there is a age spray on spray and also a safe mineral oils for mite infestations.
PAM applied directly, which the bottle CLEARLY STATES TO NOT BE USED ON THE ANIMAL-can and will do this:
_tCMDsXBvCk
pyrethrin is deadly if incorrectly used. SAVE YOUR SNAKE OR HE WILL DIE/GET SICK EVENTUALLY

PAM and NIX sprays are identical. Just remove everything from the enclosure and hold spray tip about 18 to 24 inches away from surfaces and allow to dry. I spray several layers of newspaper and allow to dry as well. I soak the animal in warm water with a drop of dish soap to break the surface tension on the water so the little buggers will drown. Other wise they can float or get air bubbles around them. I clean my enclosure first with a mild bleach solution, rinse with distilled water ( I hate water spots ) and then allow to dry before spraying. I place the sprayed and dried newspaper for the bottom a shoe box or similar with a hole cut in side for a hide and a water bowl. Use this as a quarantine and repeat this weekly for several weeks. Should take care of the problem. The spray nix with a blue lid is available at Walmart and drug stores everywhere, PAM you will most likely have to mail order at 3 or 4 times the cost. DO NOT USE ANY INSECTICIDE TREATMENTS DIRECTLY ON YOUR SNAKE!!!

PAM is only sprayed ONCE and then left for a month not repeated every week :)

X2. Also Nix and Pam have the same active ingredient but they are not the same nor are they used the same.
Nix is solution that can remain wet a long time but Pam is made for the propelent to evaporate quickly leaving a film on everything. You can put Nix directly in your snake but PAM directly on your snake will kill it or could cause what you see in the video. Be careful people.
