Hey everyone looking to get a lizard... In my reptile room i have a really nice 4x2x2 enclosure that's just sitting there. its just a starter enclosure (I want a hatching that gets BIG)... lol only about any where from 2-6 Feet nothing bigger. I was checking out a few and was wondering what you think ?
Sav Monitor or a Blue Tongue Skink ?? These 2 have caught my attention. But the thing is i have heard some bad stuff like bad temperaments!!! i have a 4 year old that loves being in my rep room and i wanna get something small so it will get use to being handled but i still get bad feed back!

BTS is your answer. It's pretty simple.
Sav's are NOT an animal you get because you wish to interact with them on a "pet level".

Whatever you get, keep in mind it's not a play toy for a four year old. That's fine if you want your son to handle it on occassion, but it should only be done properly under close supervision.

Speaking from painful experiance DO NOT GET A MONITOR if you have a child that wants to pet something. Monitors are awesome. But they can just about take your thumb off if they wanted to. A bts is pretty, and i hear, easy to handle.

BTS all the way. My 6yr old has one and he takes care of it 90% by himself. I supervise but its all him.

I wouldn't consider a Tegu a childs pet.

Just to kick the dead horse a lil more....
Yeah, BTS are awesome. My fav lizards to suggest for introducing kids to reptiles. Very durable, forgiving captives as well, and docile to boot.
