I'm confused about my kingsnake. His colors faded as he was readt to shed, and his eyes had turned milky. then his colors and eyes went back to normal like he had just shed, but there is no skin to be found anywhere. He's shed before, and you definitely can't miss seeing his skin lying in the cage. Do snakes sometimes eat their own skin? I don't know where his skin went.

This happens everytime your snake sheds his skin,.....wait a day or 2 ,...and you will see, they always turn back to normal ad day or 2 before !!! And NO they do not eat their own skin !

our JCP sheds very fast so when my burm did this i was so worried. it was actually about seven to ten days for his whole process. Three days with milky eyes, and about three or four days all cleared up before he shed, and he shed on me when i was holding him. it all just came right off when he rubbed against my knuckle. no worries. if too many days go by pop him in an itsy bit of water and see if that helps soften him.
