I figured since you guys seemed to enjoy my last set so much and since I have been working on a few different photography techniques (one being not using flash) I figured who better to go to for opinions and advice then the people who love photos!!

Anyway featured to day are Quick Ben again since out of my six snakes the rainbows are the easier to photograph due to being tiny and sort of easy to control. My Spider Ball python Brood since he was up for some shots and since I know Kat (GunGirl) has a soft spot for him and he hasn't been shown in awhile.

And finally my newest addition Venesara the crested gecko who is just generally a photo ham when she isn't pooping on you ;P.

Thank Jendee :D I tried to take some boa pictures but when 4 feet of bci doesn't want to sit still it doesn't lol. I meant to put the crestie pictures in order, she got darker as we went along since I kept misting her so she fired up more and more. She change isn't as drastic as Blind's but she turns a really nice dark yellow and chocolate brown.

I love how his eye marking doesn't even reach his eye; very cool. I love the spider morph. In fact my first bp was a spider :)

How is Brood doing? Gotten any worse?

How is Brood doing? Gotten any worse?

Its hard to tell really, its getting better in some situations and worse in others. Feeding is really a 80/20 shot, either he is hungry enough to keep striking or hungry enough he'll get to it if I leave it in, or on a bad day (which is most) he shakes so much he tries once or twice then hides and if I leave it in he will hide on the opposite end hide watching it while shaking. Its hard knowing he is really hungry but its just to much.
Some people say they don't feel things like we do but I can see frustration in him when he is feeding. I was hoping leaving it in would solve things but even over night he stays in the opposite hide staring at it while shaking or shoving himself as far away as possible from it, and I hate making his tub a stressful place for him.

Out time is something we are working on, like you might have seen in the video if I do the same type of actions with each outing he gets a little better every time but if something changes even something small he will start shaking and twirling, usually he ends up twisted over backwards driving his head into the bed while moving away from what scared him upside down.

I have baby videos from when he was 8 months old and he doesn't show any signs except a slight waver while eating.

On the opposite side of the coin, he has won many hearts and I have regulars who at first told me how snakes were disgusting or evil who now make a point to ask me how Brood is doing, if he ate or if its getting any better.

We will see what the future brings.

Awe such a sad story, having to go through that and not being able to do much about it. :( Luckily my Spider has been pretty tame with the whole wobble... I don't know if it helps or not but when he was younger I took him out a lot and he got constant exercise and I noticed during feeding that the wobble was more controlled as he was stronger? It might have helped or he just got better in general but it could be an idea....Anything to try and help :) He's 2 now and still has a shake when he feeds but I've noticed an improvement that way.

Brood had his time out when younger as i also believed it would help him get more comfortable but it still progressively got worse, at almost three im hoping its topping out and doesnt get any worse.

I was told that the wobble is supposed to stay the same or get easier as they age but ive found a few people with spiders and spider morphs who have had them worsen so atleast i know he isnt alone, on others advice ive been trying my above method with keeping handling sessions as absolutely similar as possible. This has been helping to a degree but unforunately i cannot adapt this into feeding it seems as i can never predict him.

It just breaks my heart being able to tell he really wants to eat and just can't. Yes it may not cause them physical pain directly, but indirectly it causes a lot of issues. I find more people who own spiders like to laugh at them more then attempt to help in some way giving them nicknames like 'my stupid snake, my defected snake, etc' . Bugs the heck out of me.

I know what you mean. Even though mine was handled all the time I did notice that he started to flip his head backwards or make weird movements when he's slithering around the older he got. He seems fine otherwise....he eats, poops, is super friendly to everyone and is my baby.

Whenever people attempt to make fun of him or mock him I tell them to stop....it upsets me to see people laugh at that kind of issue as well. I see it as a small quirk but he's definitely not as bad as Brood seems to be. I love him to death no matter what and I try to help him out as much as I can.

It's the look in their eyes. The distress and frustration has to be something they experience too. Even though the wobble is prominent and obviously there at least he has a confident and persistent owner to help him. Especially with the fact that he has lasted almost 3 years, I think Brood is one lucky Spider :)

Thank you hurrok, i love meeting spider ball keepers who understand them better then what seems to be the normal opinion. Hopefully yours doesnt progress farther.

I hope i can make the rest of his years comfortable.

You are welcome, I just want the Spiders to have some love too! I'm hoping that he doesn't progress further as well, and I give my best luck towards Brood and yourself to keep him alive and work through everything. :)
