My Reptile Enclosures

Here's what I have them in, an old Oak TV cabinet (for those old square TV's, once we got our flat-screen I converted it to a reptile cage stand), anyway, it works really well!

Top left is my Crested Gecko, Rodney's enclosure. Lights are for the plants, not for heating. Below that is my BP, Kahless' tub. To the right is my Rosy Boa, Boaz's tank. The light helps keep the cool side regulated, dry and 'deserty' (our place is humid...), plus makes it nice for display purposes. He also has a UTH.

Kahless' tub (complete with new hide + water dish!) I only use one hide, he didn't use the second one and it was taking up too much of his enclosure...I don't really think he needs a hide at all with his tub sheltered in that cubby in the tv-stand, but I think it makes him more comfortable. I also want to get a GOOD hygrometer (as you can see it's one of those old-types.)

Thanks. Yeah, tv stands are great for housing enclosures, good for showcasing. Sometimes getting the wiring set up is difficult with mine though, the stand is so heavy I can't even budge it lol. It wasn't a flimsy store-bought one, my cousin made it out of 100% oak.

Looks nice and nice to see some creativity , the only concern i would have and this is just my question to you is there any holes in the back of the t.v unit for air movement ? i only ask ask some reptiles need a high humidty and air movement is required so to not make it stagnant ....! Does look nice though ,good job :)

Good idea, yes there are some holes for wiring but I think I may take the back off, (it's just some thin thin flimsy wood anyways)

Lol ,oh i hear you about flimsy wood ........so hard to get quality nowadays without re-mortgaging , i like the idea of it though seems a perfect fit for everything ,i do hope you don't think i was nit picking about the humidty and air movement ,i've just been studying a lot on humidities of late and thought i would touch base here with you about it :)

Nice! I wish I still had pics of the entertainment centers I made into enclosures for my old burm and old redtail. We turned the whole thing into one enclosure complete with heat and locks. Best thing about it is it didn't cost much to do! I think the plexiglass was the most expensive part.
