I feed my carpet two days ago, placed him back in his viv ( the warm area) , about 24 hrs later he went down the bottom , to the cool area. The upper part is around 80 to 82 Degees, and the lower part around 70 or a little under at night. I moved him gently back to the warmer area. Is this ok , or should i have just left him ? Seems strange to digest a rat in the cool. Tracy.

Leave him be, he will know best what he needs, i peresonally keep my jcp at 86 hot end - maybe worth bumping it a couple of degrrees :)

i agree with Rob

i run my hot end between 85F to 90F,depending on each individual Carpet

cool end high 70F to low 80F

imo your snake will know the best place for digestion

cheers shaun

Thanks very much for that Rob and Shaun. Also can i ask , is it so that you keep the night time temps the same as the day time temps , all year round ?
