I've been told it's possibly a garter snake;
Hopefully if I can get an ID on the snake I can find out at least the country the photo was taken in. I was told Infernalis might be able to shed some light on the matter?
Any help would be much appreciated (:
I'd post the picture but I'm not allowed as I'm a new member.

The closest geographical location would be great, but really the country is needed.
Thanks!

That is a Thamnophis Sirtalis Sirtalis, common Eastern Garter Snake.
(picture inserted into your last post)
Judging by the colouration, I would say northeastern United States. (same colour as the ones in my back yard)

Why bother.. It's already a positive ID. Garter Snakes! (http://www.thamnophis.net/)
I know the guy who owns that site, he's fairly knowledgeable when it comes to garter snakes. (I hope)
