So I just recently purchased a savanah monitor and was given very little and incorrect info when I bought her. Then I came here and got the correct I do that I needed to have before the time of purchase. Anyway my gf is really wanting a bearded dragon so I figured this time I'd come here before purchasing and get all the info I need so he has a nice home and permanent enclosure waiting for him when he arrives.

What do I need to know and get before purchasing. What type of enclosure should I have before be gets what type of food should I feed what temps and humidity levels do they need what instruments should have to provide care with ect.

Any advice would be great thank you

I've only had mine for about 6 weeks, so there are others that are much more qualified to give advice. However, an invaluable site is this:

Nutrition Content (http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html)

Provides you with a list of almost anything you can possible think to feed and tells you how nutritious or dangerous it is in a nice color coded chart.

If you do a quick search on this site of Bearded Dragons you should come across quite a few threads about this. Read over them as there is plenty of info provided. Note any questions you may still have and I am sure someone on here will be able to help you!
They are a great lizard to own, I am sure your gf will love having one :)

Do you want to build something or buy something to keep it in?

Probably build depending how big it needs to be I jst built an 8x4x4 enclosure for my savanah monitor so if I need to build one it won't be to big of a deal

4x2x2 is what you will see in a lot of the care sheets, I have a few of those exo terra 36x18x18 that I bought because it is convenient but I am going to build some enclosures because I need to stack. I am going to down to like 47" x 23 x 23 so I can get all the panels for one unit out of one sheet of plywood.

I have not paid much attention to humidity, but I do mist in the morning during the winter months because it's pretty dry in my house. I keep my temp ranged from 105-110 @ basking spot to 80 cool side.

Yep easy peasy.

but just because they are easy does NOT mean you do not have to do research before you get it.

Keep in mind that beardies can live up to 10 years (if I remember correctly), so make sure your gf is still going to want it, even if you two break up.
