Looking at the parents will give the best idea of what to expect but then there are always "throwbacks" that could pop anything out :)

Biak won't get you blue. But you can get some very nice yellows from them. Ask for pictures of parents, avoid farmed snakes!

I know nothing about arboreal pythons but I am interested in them. If you don't mind, could you explain the farmed snakes warning?

Most of the time farmed are wild caught, agressive and sometimes with parasites and other things.
Never go for farmed.

x2 on what was just put - also they are normally problem feeders, prone to stress out, and live shortened lives. Farmed is just a way that people get away with Wild caught exports which are illegal!!! GTP are not allowed to be harvested in certain areas, so people bring them to farms to pass them off as farm raised animals. Sometimes they simple capture gravid adults, wait for eggs, then release the adult back into the wild and call them captive born farm raised. They still go through extreme import processes, and are just not worth the lower cost (200 for an imported biak vs 400 for a USCB). There are very good breeders out there that can sell you a US Captive born and bred snake that will be a solid feeder, have a decent attitude, and bred for colors in some cases. Ryan Burk over at Clockwork reptiles is one of these guys.

Getting one from a breeder (or a reputable shop) s better as you can go back through the hatchlings genetic history and rule out kinked tails/ other issues.

The reptile shop i use has used the same GTP breeder for decades and all the animals he takes has a full history, and he gets pics of the parents sent with each hatchling too. :)
