He's absolutely beautiful. His enclosure doesn't look very suitable, though.

Gorgeous B&W! Agree on the enclosure, looks like a fish tank.

He's awesome! I love tegus!
I'm with the others. Make even this temporary home proper for him. And lots of earth in the new cage.

Beautiful animal! If/when I get a tegu, this hybrid is the one I want!
I'm looking forward to pics of him as he grows and matures! :D
hes able to burrow perfectly fine right now @barelybreathing....this isnt my first tegu...i know what i need to do but im also not seeing him alot since hes brumating going into hibernation....
dont wanna seem like a jerk...thank you all for the great comments and also for the suggestions on the enclosure requirements but hes about 24 inches or so right now and i have him in a 75 gallon with about 7 inches of eco-earth since i couldnt find cypress mulch and hes brumating right now so by the time he up his enclosure will be ready...thanks guys!

Eco-Earth doesn't hold burrows. Mix it with some children's washed play sand, 60% Eco Earth, 40% sand. Also, for a two foot lizard, he should have AT LEAST 18 inches of substrate.
@barelybreathing - ok ill try that when i put new substrate inside...thank you...is that the only sand i can use?

Yes. It's also very cheap and almost always available at Home Depot/Lowe's/Home something stores.

Yes, as it's 100% natural, and it's chemical free. Home Depot sells 50lb bags for $6.
