Don't have as much time as I used to to spend with my snakes, but I was able to work in a photo shoot the other day.

Thanks for looking,
Ed

Thanks everyone!

Yes, this is a Jamaican boa (E. subflavus.)

Awesome, love the lesser known Epicrates species. I'm picking up a few others in a few months once they're eating regularly. How old/long is your boy? Looks around 4ft?

Wow Ed, it looks like he's really grown! Great shots!

How is his future girlfriend doing?

Thanks guys! Good guess, Kyle, I do believe he is around 4 ft long, probably more like 4.5 ft.

Cliff, she is doing well, eating better now. The other night she ate two rat pinks in addition to a quail head (don't ask.) :)

I'm getting good at eyeballing lengths with something for reference in the picture. How is his attitude? He looks pretty well accustomed to being handled.

LOL! OK, I won't...but boy is it tempting. Glad she's doing well though.

He's got a pretty good temperment for a subflavus. He's a little skittish, but he hasn't taken a strike at me in a while and really has never musked me.

That's good, last three E. Subflavus I handled musked me. Gotta love em.

Thanks everyone! My subs are a bit skittish, and the younger one often musks me, but they don't bite. But I handle them fairly often. I've heard other owners tell me that their Jamaicans are pretty bitey. :)

Ed, here I was getting all excited for fresh Jamaican picts! (Hint, hint...) ;-)

I find that the people with bitier snakes often (not always, but often) turn out to the ones who handle them least.

Alright, so handling more often is obviously the way to go. Makes sense to me! Thanks for the info :)
