One of the highlights of my career, for which I am grateful - caching and marking green anacondas on the the Venezuelan llanos; one disgorged a 60 pound deer! Hunting Anacondas in the Venezuelan Llanos - notes and photos for fans of giant snakes | That Reptile Blog That Reptile Blog (http://bitly.com/KTtyFD) Enjoy, Frank

Must be nice having a job that allows you to do things like that.

What an excellent experience! I did some herping with the people from the Milwaukee zoo about 20 years ago, looking for timber rattlers on bluffs of Wisconsin, but that pales compared to your experience. Way to go.

I've been very lucky, thanks; trade-offs, like evrything (i,e. low salary), but no regrets. I hope you are able to follow your interests as well. Best, Frank

Thank you very much; I've been very lucky; field work like that was an exception; most of my time is spent much closer to home, but I'm glad to be out and about anywhere; had one of the best summers I can recall this year, catching local herps and insects in NJ with my 5 year old nephew, for example. Enjoy, best, Frank

That sound awesome. I want to do something like that sometime. Just take a trip to South America just to catch herps and insects and tarantulas. You are really lucky to have a job where you get to do that. Something like that sounds real good right now, considering it is winter and everything here is dead or hibernating. Around here I get some snakes, few lizards, and tons of turtles and amphibians. Haven't caught any Green Anacondas in PA for some reason...
