Savu Python

So today i got a Savu Python off my buddy Shawn. It's a 2009 male about 3.5 feet. His eyes haven't true white yet. As adults their eyes are a sweet almost glow in the dark white. They hit sexy maturity between 3 to 5 years of age. He has darken up some from when he was younger. Use to be a bright orange. Anyway i snap a couple pictures before letting him settles in. Shawn said he starting to go to to shed.

I will get more pictures after he settles in.

Thanks! I like how the male keep some of their color and the female turn almost completely black. One of the only pythons i know of that you can tell the adult male and female apart just buy the color.

Thanks! I think they kind of look like a mini Scrub python. Most of them tend to have the temperament of a Scrub.

Thanks! i will be getting more pictures up once the WLP shed and making a video. I'll also be doing a video of the Savu once he settles in. I did one of my Argentina Boa and posted it in his thread the other day. i plan on making videos of them all over the winter.

Great new addition. I've kept them in the past and they are cool. I see in the first set of pictures you are giving it Folgers, I have found this makes them a little hyper, you should switch it to decaf.

Some of the coolest snakes are Pythons.:D Plus they stay on the small side. Females top out around 4 to 5 feet and males around 3 to 4 feet. The color and pattern change they go threw is amazing.

As you know, I'm very familiar with Macklot's. What I'm fascinated with is the similarities and differences between Savus and Macklot's. How would you compare them?

From what i seen and read Macks seem to be mellower and easier to work with. What's nice about Savu is they stay so small that even a aggressive one can hurt you. Plus once they clam do it's like working with a mini scrub with the curiosity of a Carpet.

Thanks! I know i love the Liasis. I am surprise you don't see more people with these awesome guys. They don't get big and they are full of personalty. Plus they are just such sweet looking snakes. For people wanting a small snake Savu, Spotted, and Children's Pythons are all very active, cool snake to work with. Unlike lazy Balls pythons that just sit there.;)
