Here's some Photos Of Roe he is a real sweetie. He really hates to go back in the tank when i take him out,he loves to hang out on his Red porcupine toy and wrap himself around it when i have him sitting out with me. Loves having under his head rubbed.

i really hate that some people cant think outside of the box i came to this website to have fun with my snake and learn about having a new snake that i have always wanted and to be the best snake owner i can be with help from other along with my silly personalty and jokes...and then u get post like this(down below and up top) where u feel like people are belitting you just joking photos and things that a snake owner knows are just jokes....am i not right after looking at the photos dont u see that its all in where and how the photos were done... lol with pointless photos how can we ever have fun but this thread was more or less just for Roes photos... but i guess that went out the window.... i dont think i was wrong for asking or giving a respoes if i was i am sorry and i didnt mean anything bad by it i just wanted to clean some things up.

Fortunately this is a serious snake forum, and inexperienced owners come here for advice and knowledge. This knowledge has to be right.

So whenever something is posted that isnt right then one of the experienced keepers will correct it. This ensures that should your thread be the only thing that someone reads they will get correct information.

And i agree - it is a lovely snake :)

iipink I've been trying to write what I want to say to you but I can't form it in such a way that select people won't attempt to make themselves feel higher by ignoring my point by shoving their opinion down my throat. Nice pictures, nice snake and as long as you are taking proper care of him think what you want not what others want you to think.

its sad that someone cant even post a happy, funny thread without people like you having to say stuff like that. its not always about being right or wrong its about enjoying your animals. you don't always need to correct everybody. i think the time is coming for me to switch forums...

It's sad that there's people who prefer fun to improper information. I don't post something to be a jerk. I posted FACTS. I want anyone reading this thread to get the PROPER information.

As a community the reptile world tries hard to educate the masses and to get rid of misconceptions. Why would you work against this? If you don't like proper info posted when there's bad info then go switch forums.

I have seen Anthropomorphism work against the hobby.

I will cite some examples.

There was a young lady on another forum in 2008 who swore her snakes loved to go on long walks, "play in the yard" and enjoyed going to the mall in her purse.

When her snakes died because she left them sitting in a tote in the sun "playing" she went all over the forums crying about it.

I know another who got a snake bite on her breast from "snuggling" her snake.

Post after post of snakes and lizards who make it into car dashboards, in sofas, under appliances, etc.....

Why do these things happen??? because over eager (Albeit well meaning, caring/loving people) do things that should never happen.

Snakes and lizards are not mammals, they are primitive reptiles, that is there beauty, admire that beauty in the enclosure where it belongs.

Mauling, repeat handling and constantly removing the animals from their environment is stressful and should be discouraged.

That's my 2 cents, my opinion... love it or hate it, it's how I feel on the subject.

but at the end of the day they are just random photos of a snake chilling out on the sofa and having its owner hold it as it wraps around her hand and attacking a stuffed red Porcupine. lol (just random photos he didnt really attack it!) DONT TRY THIS RANDOM PHOTOS!!! i hope that clears things up a little better :D
