I just picked up this little guy/girl from the Kitchener Reptile Expo. My dad and I split the price since it was mostly him who wanted it but I've pretty much fallen for it.

Cute little guy. Super chill for such a tiny lizard.

Too bad frills dont look like this :C

I always wanted a few of these but I hear they are a bit delicate so I was a bit put off from getting one although watching them get misted is pretty funny.

I'd always heard they're a little trickier than say a Bearded Dragon but I finally took the plunge and got one. I'll be keeping you all updated, as always.

What's really terrible is that even without the fictional frill and venom-spitting, they completely got the skull wrong for Dilophosaurus.

In a nutshell, they are typically more highstrung than beardies, although some do calm down a bit. I would never expect a frillie to be as "tame" as a beardie though.

They are more arboreal, and carnivorous. Their habitat is more dense woodlands and forests, while beardies like open terrain. Give your frillie LOTS of space and plenty of vertical/semi-vertical branches for clmbing.

Don't worry, he's going into a very tall, large, naturalistic enclosure. Beginning construction next weekend :) I can't wait.

Amazing little guy. Stunning pattern. Anybody know what causes the wild specimens to become so colorful ? Never seen them in captivity like that.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it has to do with the larger variety of food as well as natural sunlight?

Anyway, here's some more of the little guy:

He frills up at the temperature gun... But isn't scared of the camera, dogs, cats, people... But the SCARY TEMPERATURE GUN.

Awesom little guy. what do you feed him?

He's currently eaten mealworms and waxworms for me but I'll be offering him a larger variety once he's big enough to fit other things in his mouth. lol

I'll also be offering leafy greens and vegetables occasionally.

He looks great. To bad you didn't see my thread about the expo beforehand and meet us there. Oh well. When I saw your pics all I could think of was please do not lose him in the car ;)

I was thinking "please do not bolt in the car.." as I was holding him. haha

He's yet to bolt from me at all though. He's incredibly relaxed for being so tiny (even after he's warmed up under his basking spot).
