As most of you know New Jersey got crushed by Hurricane Sandy. Luckily my family and I were lucky enough to have a generator all setup and ready to go for when our power went out. Well it didn't take long for Sandy to pull down almost every wire in my town for us to lose power. My sister boyfriend came over and I remember he had a BP in his basement. So I asked him if he had hooked the snake up to his generator. He told me no because their generator wasn't big enough. I knew it was going to become extremely cold in his basement at night, so we drove over and brought the snake to my house so I could keep it warm and safe. When I first saw the snake I was a little shocked at how small it was. It looks to me to be the size of a yearling but it is several years old. Right away I soaked the snake, treated it for mites, and placed it in a warm tank(way from my snakes). He does have mites. He has scares from live mice bitting him. It is kinda sad. I told my sister's boyfriend that I am going to switch the snake on to F/T before I give him back and make sure he is free of mites and the tank he goes back to is perfect. Well today I took out a F/T small rat and he took it right away. I was so happy he didn't even hesitate. I am almost hoping my sister's boyfriend lets me keep him because then I can treat him for parasites and keep him healthy. He is a sweet little guy(I will have to see what sex he/she is too) and I hope I can turn him around and make him a nice little snake. Here's a picture I took of him/her last night. :)
