View Full Version : A belated look at Eyelash viper litter #3
These guys were born sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 15, I think. I don't know the exact date because I was hospitalized from Sept. 30, till Oct. 25. Yep, these little guys had to wait till I was laid up with a catasrophic injury before they would make their way into this world. Words can't describe my worry for these guys, the last 2 weeks in the hospital. I had a couple people helping with them through this ordeal, and I am ver thankfull for that. When I ariived home, all of this years babies were perfectly set up, exactly how I wanted them.
This third litter turned out to be the best one yet! 20 live, healthy babies, no stills, no slugs. 8 greens, and 12 oddballs. Some are pink, tan, orange, pastel yellow, pastel green. It's going to be fascinating, watching these youngsters mature, and change. No group shots this time, as they were already seperated when I finally got to see them. Here, I have an individual shot of all 20 babies. Enjoy.

Glad you're home and doing better. Great looking animals you have there. Sure lucky to have someone to help with something like this.

I'm glad that they are safe and you're back home and well. R13 and R5 are my favorites, but they are all stunning. It must have been great to come home to such a fun fang-faced surprise!

Thanks for all the nice comments, and well wishes. Unfortunately, I have about two more years of surgeries and recoveries ahead of me. I can tell you, just being around my snakes, taking care of them again, makes me feel so much better. Seeing these babies for the first time really lifted my spirits.

Wow these are awesome! What do you plan on doing with all these baby's?
Thanks again, everyone. If I had to pick a favorite, right now, it would be R1.
I will raise them all up, until April, or so. Then I will pick a few to keep for myself, and the rest will be offered for sale locally.

Let me ask this, OP. How do you avoid being bitten when you're feeding, cleaning the cage, etc.?

This might sound dumb, but how, if you do at all, do you handle them?

Very carefully, with a hook, and only when necessary

i love eyelash vipers, they look like bobble heads, where their heads are over sized.
stunning snakes,by the way:)

Most vipers do...skinny necks and huge, bulbous heads.
Just like any of my hots, I handle them with proper sized hooks, and feed them with the proper sized forceps. Except for the fact that they're tiny, they handle just like the adults.
