Hell i found a baby snake in my front yard tonight and am having a little problem identifying it. any help will do. and thanks in advance.

Oh and if it helps i live in El Cajon Ca, east of San Diego

Great Plains ratsnake would be my guess, given the area.

Do you have any additional pictures? We do not actually get rat snakes or corn snakes, so it is unlikely to be either of those. Its head is not triangular enough to be a baby rattlesnake.

In my professional opinion (I'm a field biologist! :) ), it looks like a juvenile lyre snake.

That is 110% NOT a rattlesnake.
