Very sweet! Live the snakes and that enclosure is awesome. How is the humidity kept in there? Auto-Mister?

The enclosure as you know is a on going project, so that picture was taken when it was first set up, now there is a Auto mister that goes into the cage along with a waterfall on the bottom, and if i need to increase the humidity for their shedding period, i cover the side screens with plexiglass that ive cut to size!

its only Carpet Pythons i keep.....
i have kept /keep together, same sized females, same sized pairs and same sized hatchlings,in the 1 tank, with no issues...
i separate to feed...
i am interested to hear about keeping more than 1 GTP in the same tank...
i have heard that it can be damaging to sex GTP's under a year, they have soft/vulnerable spines and popping can cause kinks in the spine
are yours old enough to be sexed and have they ?
are they both feeding, shedding, etc, ok ?
re Carpets co - habiting
as said i and a lot of other morelia keepers i know,co habit without issue...
are GTP's the same mate ?
imo those are 2 good looking healthy snakes,i look forward to your answers and info on co - habiting GTP's
thanks in advance :)
cheers shaun

I have heard of a lot of GTP keepers houseing two together with no probs Shaun, i agree with the sexing part tho the one i got was sexed when i got him and he was only a wee baby. I guess GTP breeders have the skills :)

Shaun,
-Both of these Green Tree Pythons have yet to be sexed but they are older then 1 year of age so I plan on doing it pretty soon.
-Both are feeding every week and a half or until they defecate & also Shedding in full. In fact I had the yellow one in a cage by its self for around 4 months and he wasn't doing well, refused to eat, only shed its head and retained the rest of the body shed. Once I brought the Red/Orange one into the same cage he seemed to just wake up and started eating/shedding etc (although I dont believe the other snake had anything to do with it, I experimented with a little chicken broth on the feeder rodent and the yellow one snatched it up)...To be honest this co-habiting was simply an experiment that seems to be going my way and I couldnt be more happy about it.
Plus both snakes are SOOOOOO tame which is always a bonus!!!!

I'm not 100% sure weather it would be a problem butttttt if Aaron has matured or has been alone for its entire life, then I don't know if I'd risk it. Mine were both yearlings when I put them together so I feel they adapted quick and easily. Again there's always some sort of risk with 2 GTPs in the same enclosure but if your set on trying it, then I say for go it !

Even though I was under the impression that Aaron was a snake. If you read it as if I was referring to her boyfriend, my sentence still kinda makes sense :smug: hahaha (no offense towards your boyfriend I just thought it was humorous)

Well from what I've read I've heard of several females being able to be kept together, but two males put together will fight? I wouldn't risk it IMO, but I'm interested to see if its possible to do it successfully.

BAHAHAH that gave me a really good laugh =3 But really, he didn't grow up with pets at all. and his family isn't very close at all. We have lots of theories as to why he doesn't like them

Haha a lot of people have preconceived notions about snakes. Its a shame!

oh it's not just snakes he doesn't like...it's basically all animals. he does't have the attachment to them like I do. Out of all animals that we can keep though, the snakes are his favorite.

Its hard not to admire such beautiful creatures, if pictures like these (or pictures of any GTP for that matter) don't change his mind then I don't know what will. ha
