As well as the Axolotl I got some desert millipedes as well. I've always been fascinated with millipedes, especially the big ones. They won't get as big as their african cousins, but these guys are pretty neat. I got two females and a male, the male is the darkest of the three and the most active.

Nice little things... Do you have a picture of the set up? I think something like these would be nice to put in my sons room. He loves creepy crawlies :)

They came in a clear plastic container with a popping lid, with ecoearth on the bottom and a piece of lettuce. The person who was selling them told me that's all they need, they like to burrow. I'll be making a real setup for them once I get my rack and have space for a little tank.

I'd suggest something like a Critter Keeper, like this:
Reptile Ranch with Lid - Rectangle - Large | ThatPetPlace.com (http://www.thatpetplace.com/reptile-ranch-with-lid-rectangle-large)

I have my African giant in one of these, with about 3 inches of Jungle Earth mix bedding (peat, coconut fiber and moss), sphagnum moss chunks and a piece of rotting log. They love fallen leaves from outside...just freeze them for a few hours to kill parasites first. Make sure you use a calcium supplement and give a variety of greens, or leaves and stuff. Good luck...they're neat little 'pedes!

Thanks for the info, I have a round Critter Keeper I can keep them in. I'm only going to keep one of them, I bought them for my boss and I, so I'm giving him two. Would that be too damp for them though? I know the ones in my hand are a desert species, she said to just put some damn sphagnum moss and greens/veggies and they will eat that.
