the scale rot, is just brownish scales on the snake's sides and top of the middle of its body and a few scales towards its belly, no lesions. i have acquired bedatine solution and neosporin ointment with out pain killers and will start the treatment today, i just have a couple of questions id like advice on.
1. once i completely clean the tank, can i keep the snake on new repti-bark substrate ? the subsrate will be dry or is it 100% necessary to use paper towels ?
2. should i stop misting the cage ? i thought about misting the tank's walls to provide some humidity.

I would use paper towels or newspaper. Also what type of snake is it? Does it require high humidity? If not then just a water bowl scale rot often happens from to moist of an enviroment at least thats what my reptile vet told me when I had a snake a number of years ago with it.
