Ugh I have been so stressed out about Bonnie's mites, I nearly had a panic attack today. The reptile store I work at doesn't sell Provent A Mite, but my boss is awesome and is letting me borrow his can. I sprayed down Bonnie's and Walter's tank. They are both in the same room but on opposite sides, and I never handle both of them in the same day but I want to be sure. I haven't found mites on Walter, no specs in the water dish, none when I wipe him down with a damp paper towel, nothing. But better safe than sorry.

Should I treat all my other snakes? I'm feeling really paranoid about this right now... None of my snakes EVER go into the room with my quarantined snakes, and vice versa.

Nce you have been in the quarantine room do you go near you other snakes before changing clothes and taking a shower? If so i would treat ALL of them, if not i would h,d off for now and keep your fingers crossed :)

I have to walk through the room with my other snakes. I didn't know at first you could spray the substrate so I was freaking out. I don't have time to do anything more than feed and spot clean, so I haven't been taking anyone out to interact with.

Hmmm, in that case i would be tempted to treat each viv just to be sure. If you dont and you clear the quarantine cages only then you may get a reinfestation.

I think thats what I am going to do. I'd rather just do it and be safe instead of being lazy and finding down the road that all my snakes have it. This is going to be a long day.

Yes they are. Windows are open and all waterbowls are being washed. I read a recent post of yours saying how to treat with Provent A Mite ;)

Its understandable, I'd rather you be concerned! I just meant no one was happy about being in a little bin (all separate of course). Like I said, I'd rather just get it over with and be safe rather than have to deal with an infestation later!

Would diatomaceous earth work or would it be bad for a snake?

I wouldn't try it, I just wouldn't want to risk hurting any of my snakes.

Treat all your snakes. Kill them all now and treat again in 3-4 weeks. If you work at a pet store with reptiles you will bring mites home. Gonna happen again, just like at work. Only way around it is to quit. So quit or buy lots of PAM. You may also transfer them from your home to work. Your truly going to be battling this all the time. People with mites at their homes will be in the pet store.
Best of luck.
